2004 Estate Pinot Noir Our tiny Estate Pinot Noir vineyard, planted in 1989, is supplemented in the 2004 vintage by a small amount of fruit from vines we planted in 2001. You will still get the distinctively earthy, classic Pinot Noir aromas of our proprietary Pinot Noir clones, but there is a more robust tannic structure than in years’ previous, due to the addition of our new Dijon clones. On the nose, floral and light earthy mushroom aromas are married with black fruit notes. Flavors are bright and fruit-forward, with strong impressions of pomegranate over ripe red cherry. A pleasant, lengthy finish with solid tannins makes this a wonderful wine for sharing with friends, or pairing with lamb. This wine can be enjoyed now, but will improve with another 2 to 4 years of bottle aging. If you must have it now, please decant the wine carefully into a crystal decanter, or use a large glass and let the wine breathe in the glass for a good half hour before enjoying.
