2005 FiftyFifty Red Blend

FiftyFifty is a wonderful blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon and 50% Merlot from two tiny local Santa Cruz Mountain and Santa Clara Valley vineyards.  This is a nice food-friendly wine that you will enjoy with dinner, or sipping in front of a snug autumn evening fire.  A medium Claret style wine, it will pair with a wide variety of foods; I like it with lamb and duck.  It presents a nuanced nose with pomegranate and cherry aromas.  Cherry is a prominent taste, and a lovely blackberry cobbler flavor shows up with overtones of cinnamon and allspice.
