2004 Reserve Chardonnay The first planting at Sarah’s Vineyard was back in 1978, and was entirely Chardonnay. These older Chardonnay vines exhibit a strong mineral quality, which we find compares well to the white Burgundies of Puligny-Montrachet. Our 2004 vintage only yielded enough wine to make 200 cases of wine. The wine is overall a light, lean and elegant Chardonnay that will pair well with foods. The wine is delicate, but displays a surprising complexity; aromas of mineral and pear-apple greet the nose, followed by lush fruit flavors of pear, apple, peach, pineapple, and traces of honeycomb. The finish has a light crème brûlée touch and a teasing tingle on the tongue from the new French oak.
