2003 Estate Chardonnay

Light golden yellow in the glass, our 2003 Estate Chardonnay presents aromas of green apple fruit accented with light apricot and lichi nut.  30% new French oak barrels give hints of cinnamon oak spice and vanilla, overlaying the mineral character typical of our old Estate vineyard.  The wine shows upfront flavors of tart apple on a steely mineral background with light oak and vanilla leading to a crisp finish.  Enjoy this fine Chardonnay now and for the next two years.

Vinification: 40% barrel fermented, 50% malolactic fermentation
Cellaring: 10 months, 30% new French oak barrels, 70% seasoned French oak barrels. Barrel lees stirred weekly for three months.
Acidity: 6.5 g/L  pH: 3.45 Alcohol: 13.7%
